Protective clothing and personal protective equipment

Different types of personal protective equipments are applicable for wide range of use, because of this they have to fulfill so many quality and functional requirements.

Regulation (EU) 2016/425* applies to personal protective equipment, hereinafter referred to as 'PPE'. The Directive lays down the basic safety requirements which PPE must satisfy in order to ensure the health protection and safety of users.

A manufacturer cannot place on the market or bring into service any PPE without having affixed the CE marking to products. The CE marking attests the conformity of the product with the applicable requirements of the relevant Community harmonisation legislation providing for its affixing.

As an independent party INNOVATEXT offers wide range of services for manufacturers and firms whose call for tenders or public procurements.

Our Notified Certification Body deals with PPE (protective garments, gloves, arm covers and caps) EC-type examination and issues EU-type examination certificate. The EU-type examination and certification of protective gloves is carried out in line with the standard DIN EN 388.

Our Notified Inspection Body deals with the inspection of PPE according to Regulation (EU) 2016/425 Annex VII (Module C2) assessment.

The European Direktive 89/686/EEC of 21 April 2018, was replaced by Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

As a member of the Hohenstein Group we offer for our customer also other type of conformity assessment services for testing protection functions, for example protection against UV Radiation, protection against flame and bacterial effects.

If the tested products conforms the requirements, our customers when marketing their products can use the Hohenstein Quality Label. The conditions for the use of the Hohenstein Quality Label are stipulated in a separate contractual agreement.
